3 People Hospitalized in Palm Springs Auto Accident on State Route 247

PALM SPRINGS, CA (December 6, 2023) – Tuesday morning, Anna Rodriguez and two other people sustained injuries in a disastrous two-vehicle crash on State Route 247.

The incident happened at around 6:48 a.m. on State Route 247.

According to the CHP public information officer Michael Radford, a northbound 2013 Mini Cooper drove over the double yellow lines for still unknown reasons and collided with a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu.

Moreover, responders transported the driver of the Mini Cooper, 59-year-old Rodriguez with major injuries, and two occupants of the Chevrolet, 27-year-old Chance Sistrunk with moderate injuries, and Christina Layden with major injuries, to a hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
