1 Dead and 3 Hurt in Loon Lake Multi-Vehicle Accident
LOON LAKE, WA (December 11, 2018) – A female Chewelah resident was killed after losing control of her truck while traveling in snow and struck two vehicles driving on the other way.
50-year-old Anna M. Kenney was pronounced dead at the scene on Highway 395 south of Loon Lake, a news release from the Washington State Patrol revealed.
After an investigation, it was identified that Kenney was traveling too fast for the snowy conditions on the road. It was also reported that Kenney was not wearing a seatbelt during the collision.
There were three people who suffered injuries, including a 1-year-old.
According to reports, Kenney was traveling in a northbound maroon 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup at 8:20 a.m. on Highway 395 about 3 miles south of Loon Lake. It was revealed that it 2 inches of snow had fallen. She was unable to control her vehicle and drove across the center lines until she struck a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling south. A GMC Yukon then struck Kenney’s pickup.
The two adults who were injured but did not go to the hospital. However, the baby was transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center after sustaining injuries.
