Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Collision in South Los Angeles
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (August 20, 2019) – Authorities identified 58-year-old Anna Lynelle Graves as the woman struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Vermont Vista neighborhood, Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on West 98th Street, at about 11:00 PM. The victim exited a Metro bus and entered a marked crosswalk when she noticed two vehicles approaching. Then, she attempted to back up and avoid the vehicles. However, one of the vehicles hit her near South Vermont Avenue.
Unfortunately, Graves, who was on her way home from work, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and immediately fled the area.
Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a white older sedan, possibly a Mercedes CLK Coupe. Anyone with information is asked to call (310) 642-3939. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
