Chelsea Kefalas Hurt in Deadly 2-Car Crash on Eureka Way in Redding
REDDING, CA (February 11, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman killed in a two-car crash on Tuesday as Ann May Schwartz, 85, of Redding.
The fatal crash happened around 2:16 p.m. near the intersection of Eureka Way and Whiskeytown Court.
Police said Schwartz got out of a private driveway and attempted to go eastbound on Eureka Way when an oncoming white 2017 Volkswagen struck her 2017 Buick.
Police said the driver of the Volkswagen was unable to avoid the collision.
Schwartz suffered major injuries and was later pronounced dead at Mercy Medical Center.
The driver of the Volkswagen, 26-year-old Chelsea Kefalas of Redding, complained of pain.
Police said neither driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
The collision remains under investigation.
