Anita Carlon of Janesville Injured in Head-On Crash on US395 [Palmdale, CA]

Palmdale, CA (February 05, 2022) – On February 01, 52-year-old Anita Carlon of Janesville and 33-year-old Joschka Zawadzki of Hillsboro, OR, both suffered injuries in a head-on crash on US395.

The traffic collision happened at about 7:40 p.m. south of Pozzolan Road.

Zawadzki was southbound in his Red 2021 Toyota Corolla at an unknown speed.

At the same time, 45-year-old Fredy Flamenco of Palmdale was northbound in his White 2009 Freightliner BCM2 box van approaching Zawadzki at approximately 55-60 MPH.

Carlon was also northbound in her Silver 2017 GMC Yukon behind Flamenco’s Freightliner.

Officers said that Zawadzki allowed his vehicle to swerve to the left and crossed the northbound lane directly into the path of Flamenco’s Freightliner.  

As a result, the front left of Zawadzki’s Toyota crashed with Flamenco’s Freightliner’s front left.

Zawadzki continued to drive southbound in the northbound lane.

Then, the left side of Zawadzki’s Toyota struck Carlon’s GMC’s left front.

Immediately, the emergency rescuers arrived and provided assistance to Joschka Zawadzki and Anita Carlon who sustained minor injuries.

On the other hand, Flamenco did not suffer injury from the collision.

Yield right of way. It is important to understand the right of way. Be sure to yield to drivers who have the right of way. However, it is safe to never assume that all drivers know the rules. Only proceed when it is safe to do so.
