65-Year-Old Woman and Her Dog Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Blue Lake South; Woman’s Son Injured
IRVINE, CA (February 18, 2018) – A 65-year-old woman, her son, and two dogs were struck by a car while walking in the Woodbridge area of Irvine on Sunday evening.
Officers received a crash report at around 10:18 PM and found the woman and her adult son injured in the area of Blue Lake South and Springacre, according to Irvine police spokeswoman Kim Mohr.
Both victims were brought to the hospital where the woman, Angelina Guentcheva, was pronounced dead the next morning, February 19. Her son remained in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. One dog was fatally injured in the crash, while a second dog was injured. There is no further information on the status of the canine.
