Angelina Esparza Dies in Fortuna Road Pedestrian Accident [Yuma, AZ]

Yuma, AZ (February 24, 2022) – On Tuesday, 81-year-old Angelina Esparza, from Yuma, was killed after getting hit by a vehicle on Fortuna Road.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says that the fatal accident happened at about 10:22 a.m. in the 11-400 block of Fortuna Road.

Esparza was crossing the road when the vehicle hit her.

Rescuers took the pedestrian to Yuma Regional Medical Center first, then flew to a Phoenix-area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities are investigating the crash and have not provided additional details.
