Casino Bus Driver Detained for DUI after Hitting Bridge Rail on Highway 101

MARIN COUNTY, CA (March 25, 2018) – A tour bus traveling to Graton Casino in Rohnert Park hit a Golden Gate Bridge railing, on Sunday morning.

The 34-year-old driver, Angela Teasley, reportedly did not stop after the accident and continued driving along the US Highway 101.

The officials received a 911 call about the crash around 9:25 AM from a concerned passenger onboard the bus. According to the passenger, Teasley was driving unpredictably at dangerous speeds even after they had crashed into the railing. More callers started to report about a bus driving recklessly as it continued to travel north through Marin County into Sonoma County.

Multiple CHP units arrived in an attempt to conduct an enforcement stop as the bus headed through Petaluma. Due to the delay in relaying of information, they failed to get in front of the bus. At around 10:15 AM, Rohnert Park Public Safety Officers were finally able to stop the bus as it entered the casino’s parking lot. Teasley was detained until the CHP Officers arrived for an official investigation.

In their DUI evaluation, Teasley was determined to be intoxicated during the trip. Her blood-alcohol content exceeded the 0.08 percent, at nearly four times the legal limit. She was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for alleged DUI and operating a commercial vehicle while impaired.

All forty passengers did not sustain injuries from the incident. No other information is available at the time.
