Angela Andrews Dies, 4 Hospitalized After Crash on Highway 285 in Dexter

Dexter, NM (July 23, 2024) – On Sunday, 18-year-old Angela Andrews died, and four others sustained injuries in a crash on Highway 285.

Reportedly, the New Mexico State Police are investigating a crash in Dexter that resulted in the death of a teenager. 

The crash occurred at an intersection of Highway 285 between Dexter and Roswell on Sunday just before 7 p.m.

A car driven by a 16-year-old, with 18-year-old Angela Andrews as the passenger, crossed the road unsafely and was struck by another vehicle. 

Both the driver and Andrews sustained severe injuries and were airlifted to a hospital in El Paso, where Andrews later died. 

Three individuals in the other car also sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital, though their current conditions remain unknown.
