Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision at Airport Boulevard and Pierce Street Intersection
THERMAL, CA (May 18, 2018) – A collision between two vehicles killed two people Friday evening in the area of Airport Boulevard and Pierce Street. The Riverside County Coroner’s office identified the victims as 20-year-old Angel Salinas and 17-year-old Jacob Carrillo, both residents of Coachella.
The collision was reported shortly after 8:10 PM in the east valley. Cal Fire responded to the scene and found one of the two vehicles engulfed in flames.
Salinas and Carrillo were declared dead at the scene of the collision, while an unidentified third victim was transported to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries. It was not confirmed if the victims were found in the same vehicle.
The investigation of the crash is currently being handled by the California Highway Patrol. No additional information is available to the public at this time.
