1 Dead and 2 Hurt in San Jacinto Accident on Esplanade Avenue

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (September 8, 2020) – On Saturday morning, Angel Rodriguez died while two others suffered injuries in a crash on Esplanade Avenue.
 
The two-vehicle crash occurred just after 4:30 a.m. on Esplanade Avenue and Hewitt Street. As a result of the crash, the roadway remained close for several hours.
 
The deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station, along with Cal Fire-Riverside County Fire Department and AMR personnel, came to the crash scene.
 
Upon their arrival, they located three victims from the two cars. Furthermore, one of them was stuck and has suffered serious injuries. In addition, the person trapped in the wreckage required extrication.
 
The AMR medics took three victims to area hospitals. However, one of the victims died. Meanwhile, the two other patients have moderate injuries.

On the other hand, the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials identified the deceased as 32-year-old Angel Rodriguez of San Jacinto. According to the coroner’s release, a medical staff declared Rodriguez dead at Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley at 7:05 a.m.
 
The San Jacinto Station’s Collision Reconstruction Team came to the crash scene and spearheaded the investigation, said Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Heath.
 
“They are conducting a full investigation to determine the cause of the collision,” Heath added. “Currently, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.”
 
Moreover, the authorities shut down Esplanade Avenue and Hewitt Street in both directions while crews investigate. At this time, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
