FRESNO, CA (May 20, 2020) – Early Tuesday morning, a person died and 55-year-old Angel Rodriguez suffered injuries in a two-car accident on 16th Avenue.
 
According to the police reports, the incident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on Kansas Avenues between 15th Avenue and 16th Avenue in Kings County.
 
The authorities revealed that a driver of a westbound SUV fell asleep while driving and collided with an oncoming pickup truck.
 
The impact left an SUV passenger with fatal injuries. When the authorities arrived, they declared the passenger deceased at the scene.
 
The authorities also requested towing services in the area due to the extent of damage sustained.
 
Meanwhile, the officials added that both vehicle drivers sustained major injuries and were transported to a local hospital. There have been no updates regarding the current condition of the victims involved.
 
The incident also led the authorities to shut down 5th Avenue and 16th Avenue while the officers investigate the crash scene. However, the road has since reopened.
