NAPA, CA (September 6, 2021) – Sunday morning, Angel Padilla-Moreno and another person sustained injuries in a police pursuit crash on Highway 29.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident started at around 2:43 a.m. Officers pulled up behind a 2017 Honda Accord stopped on the right shoulder of Highway 29. Then, the vehicle suddenly drove off and fled at a high rate of speed.
Furthermore, the officers attempted to chase the Honda up the freeway. Then, they spotted the vehicle after it was involved in a crash near the First Street interchange.
Reports revealed that the vehicle lost control and struck a fence. Then, it collided with two parked vehicles before it overturned.
Moreover, responders transported the driver and a passenger of the Honda. They took them to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, officials identified the Honda driver as 23-year-old Angel Padilla-Moreno of Napa. Authorities will investigate him for driving under the influence, reckless driving, and violating his probation for a previous DUI-related arrest.
