18-Year-Old Los Angeles Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near West 1st Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 10, 2018) – A pedestrian was killed early Saturday morning following a hit-and-run crash near West 1st Street. The victim was later identified as 18-year-old Andy Olivera Monoscano, a resident of Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 1:05 AM. A vehicle was traveling southbound on South Virgil Avenue when it hit a pedestrian running outside of a marked crosswalk.
Monoscano suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the site by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics. Meanwhile, the unidentified driver did not stop to render aid and immediately fled the scene of the crash.
