2 Hurt in Spokane Car Accident on Monroe Street near Second Avenue
SPOKANE, WA (October 19, 2022) – Monday night, Andy Chavarria sustained injuries following a traffic crash on Monroe Street near Second Avenue.
The incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. on Monroe Street south of Second Avenue.
According to the reports, a southbound Volkswagen Bug ran a red light at Second Avenue. Then, it collided with a westbound Subaru Impreza. Afterward, the Volkwagen continued traveling after the crash and struck and toppled a streetlight along Monroe Street.
Moreover, officials confirmed that the Subaru driver, Spokane resident Andy Chavarria, was not seriously hurt in the incident. Then, paramedics transported a male occupant of the Volkswagen to a hospital with a possible leg injury.
Furthermore, Spokane police spokesman Cpl. Nick Briggs said that the Volkswagen driver was cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to stop at an intersection, and having no insurance.
Meanwhile, the incident remained under investigation.
