45-Year-Old Citrus Heights Man Fatally Injured in Accident near San Juan Avenue, Christina Diaz Arrested

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (October 9, 2018) – On Tuesday evening, a man was killed in an accident on Greenback Lane. The deceased victim was later identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office as 45-year-old Andrey Tagintsev of Citrus Heights.

The fatal collision took place around 6:30 PM near San Juan Avenue. Citrus Heights Police officials stated that a 2004 Toyota Camry, driven by 19-year-old Christina Diaz, was traveling west on Greenback Lane when she intentionally crashed her vehicle into a Dodge van. Diaz then lost control of the Camry, veered past the center median into the eastbound lanes, and struck a Mercedes-Benz sedan, driven by Tagintsev. Diaz is facing charges of four felony counts – assault with a deadly weapon, DUI with injury, hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter. She is being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail on a $395,000 bail. The crash is still under investigation and police are asking any witnesses to contact detectives by calling (916) 727-5818.
