1 Dead in Amarillo Motorcycle Accident on Soncy Road and W Amarillo Boulevard

AMARILLO, TX (September 12, 2024) – Tuesday morning, Andrew Spring died in a brutal motorcycle crash on Soncy Road and W Amarillo Boulevard.

The incident involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle happened at about 10:30 a.m. on Soncy Road and W Amarillo Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found a white 2024 CF Moto Sport Motorcycle, driven by 28-year-old Spring, heading north on Soncy Road. Meanwhile, a 2022 Mazda 9 was traveling south on Soncy and turning east onto W. Amarillo Blvd.

The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the Mazda, causing Spring to be thrown from his bike. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away. Authorities confirmed that the Mazda’s driver was unharmed, though the passenger had minor injuries.

Potter County Justice of the Peace Robert Taylor was on the scene and called for an autopsy. The Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Squad is currently looking into the crash.
