PHELAN, CA (September 5, 2024) – Friday night, Andrew Shih died in a devastating two-vehicle crash on Highway 138 and Sayle Road.

The incident happened at around 9:10 p.m. along Highway 138 at Sayle Road.

According to reports, a westbound 2006 Ford pickup truck made an unsafe left turn and collided with an eastbound 2022 Nissan. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Ford to roll over.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the driver of the Ford, identified as 85-year-old Shih, died in the crash. Then, paramedics treated the 60-year-old male driver of the Nissan for minor injuries.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that no arrests were made as of this moment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
