Fatal Crash on North McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma Leaves Andrew Runge Dead
Petaluma, CA – On August 7, 56-year-old Andrew Runge died and another sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on North McDowell Boulevard, just north of Scott Street.
The incident happened at 4:09 p.m. on August 7. The collision involved a grey Nissan sedan and a blue Chevy Silverado.
Authorities said the grey Nissan sedan was traveling north on the boulevard when he attempted to make a left turn into a business.
However, he then collided with the driver of a blue Chevy Silverado pickup going the opposite direction.
Emergency crews transported the Chevy driver to Petaluma Valley Hospital with minor injuries while the Nissan driver, Mr. Runge, was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with severe injuries. The Petaluma resident later died at the medical facility that same day.
Witnesses are asked to call the agency at 707-778-4372.
