Arnulfo Rodriguez Jr Arrested after DUI Crash on Southbound 101 Freeway in Ventura
Ventura, CA (July 12, 2021) – Early Monday morning, a 26-year-old Andrew Mejia died and William Lararamirez, 23, sustained severe injuries after a solo-vehicle DUI crash along the southbound 101 Freeway.
Subsequently, police arrested the driver, a 25-year-old Arnulfo Rodriguez Jr. on suspicion of DUI and felony gross vehicular manslaughter.
The fatal Ventura crash happened at about 3:30 a.m. on July 12, along the southbound 101 Freeway at the Main Street offramp.
The CHP found the 2016 Infinity Q50 down an embankment with major damage.
Three men were in the car and needed to be freed from the wreckage.
CHP then confirmed Mejia dead at the crash scene. EMS took Lararamirez to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.
All three men are Moorpark residents.
Police continue to further investigate the circumstances of this fatal crash.
