No Injuries in Jamestown Auto Accident on O’Byrnes Ferry Road
JAMESTOWN, CA (March 11, 2021) – Wednesday, a crash involving Andrew Lipscomb, Matthew Martin, and Kimbra Carlson happened on O’Byrnes Ferry Road.
The incident occurred at about 1:15 p.m. just before the bridge on Jamestown.
According to CHP spokesperson Steve Machado, 35-year-old Andrew Lipscomb of Kellogg Idaho traveled in a dump truck hauling a utility trailer.
As Lipscomb drove his truck north on O’Byrnes Ferry Road near Old O’Brynes Ferry Road, he lost control while rounding a curve.
Then, the truck struck Matthew Martin, 39, of Copperopolis driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck. Then, it struck 52-year-old Kimbra Carlson of Fallon driving another pickup.
Afterward, the dump truck drove off the road, fell into an embankment, then overturned.
Machado confirmed that rainy weather played a role. “We’re unsure if speed was a factor in this crash. However, the roads were wet at the time and the driver of the dump truck only lost control of the trailer.”
The incident led to the closure of the O’Byrnes Ferry Road and Highway 108 intersection. The incident also led to the closure from about a half-mile north of the Sierra Conservation Center to the Tuolumne County side of the bridge.
