The collision caused the Focus to overturn. As a result 23-year-old Andrew Giganti of Santa Rosa suffered serious injuries, CHP Officer David deRutte revealed.
The teen didn’t suffer any injuries and fled the scene. However, authorities caught and detained him on suspicion of felony evading and felony hit‑and‑run causing injuries. In addition, officers booked him into Sonoma County’s juvenile detention center.
The chase began after 10:00 p.m. on Santa Rosa Avenue. An officer spotted the teen driver speeding and tried to pull him over. However, the teen drove away, heading north, and quickly outpaced the officer’s patrol SUV.
