Driver Dead after Vehicle Splits into 3 in Crash outside Whittier Chapel
WHITTIER, CA (July 28, 2019) – Authorities identified 19-year-old Andrew Delgado as the driver killed in a crash outside a Whittier church, early Sunday morning.
According to the Whittier Police Department, the incident happened in the 16200 block of Whittier Boulevard, at about 12:51 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle slammed into a pole outside Praise Chapel Whittier.
The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to split into at least three pieces. Delgado, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was partially ejected from the car. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Whittier police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal collision. Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate as soon as possible. Additional information will be released to the public once it becomes available.
