Rollover Crash on Cornman Road in Eloy Kills Two Teens and Critically Injures Two Others
ELOY, AZ (August 21, 2019) – Two teenagers died and two others sustained critical injuries after a rollover crash Wednesday evening in Eloy, authorities said.
The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. on Cornman Road west of Valley Road. According to preliminary findings, a 2004 Dodge Durango carrying four teenagers traveled west on Cornman Road when it lost control and began to roll over several times.
All four occupants were not wearing seat belts, resulting in their ejection from the vehicle, the EPD critical accident response team stated in a press release.
Police pronounced two of the victims dead at the scene. Eloy police have identified them as 16-year-old Andrew Archuleta of Eloy and 17-year-old Noleen Jose of Casa Grande.
Meanwhile, the other two teens were airlifted to a Phoenix hospital with critical injuries. Their names were not immediately available.
Police believe speed contributed in the crash. Impairment of the driver is not suspected at this time.
Investigation of this incident is ongoing.
