1 Person Arrested in Merced County Auto Accident near Ashby Road and Beachwood Drive

MERCED COUNTY, CA (October 9, 2024) – Monday night, authorities arrested Andres Zepeda-Lopez after an alarming DUI crash near Ashby Road.

The incident happened at around 7:00 p.m. near Ashby Road, south of Beachwood Drive.

According to reports, a southbound white sedan rear-ended a black sedan for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that an occupant of the black sedan sustained minor to moderate injuries but refused further treatment.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the white sedan, identified as 31-year-old Zepeda-Lopez of Atwater, on suspicion of felony DUI causing injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
