Andres Botello and Others Killed in Highway 16 Head-On Collision [Jim Hogg County, TX]

Jim Hogg County, TX (November 9, 2023) – 66-year-old Andres Botello of Zapata and two others were killed following a Highway 16 head-on collision Wednesday morning.

The fatal collision unfolded before 5 a.m. in Hebronville Texas,.

According to the accident report, a white 2016 GMC pickup truck driven by Jaime Barrera Junior, 27, of Roma, was westbound on the freeway when it collided head-on with an ambulance traveling the opposite direction. 

The impact of the collision killed Barrera Junior, Botello, the ambulance driver, and Jose Guadalupe, 23, also of Zapata, a passenger in the ambulance.

All three of them were killed at the accident scene.

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating the cause of this fatal collision.
