Two Drivers Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Reeves Canyon Road

UKIAH, CA (August 15, 2018) – Two people were killed Wednesday morning after their vehicles collided head-on near Reeves Canyon Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at 8:55 AM. A red 2003 Subaru Outback, driven by 39-year-old Andrea O’Leary, was heading north on Highway 101 when it crossed two sets of double yellow lines. The vehicle entered the southbound lane and crashed into a black 2009 Toyota Tacoma driven by 72-year-old Melvin Blair of Santa Rosa.

O’Leary and Blair sustained fatal injuries, and both of them were pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers were confirmed to be the sole occupants of their vehicles.

Affected areas were temporarily shut down but were reopened more than three hours later. The investigation is ongoing to identify possible contributing factors, and additional information was not available to the public.
