Douglas Coble, Gary Hammer, and Andrea Nelson Involved in Three-Vehicle Collision near Vail Road SE
THURSTON COUNTY, WA (October 3, 2018) – A woman was arrested after a multi-car crash on State Route 507, early Wednesday evening. The suspect was later identified as 29-year-old Andrea Nelson of Puyallup.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the three-vehicle collision took place at approximately 5:00 PM near Vail Road SE.
According to Police officials, Nelson was driving northbound along the highway when she hit a southbound vehicle in the left turn lane, driven by 70-year-old Gary Hammer of Yelm. After the initial collision, Nelson continued driving and hit another car, driven by 53-year-old Douglas Coble, also of Yelm. Due to the impact of the crash, Coble’s car veered off the road and into a nearby ditch.
Nelson was taken to Capital Medical Center in Olympia for precautionary reasons. She was later arrested on a vehicular assault charge. No other injuries were reported in the incident. No further details related to the incident were disclosed by officials, as they continue to investigate.
