Andon Urbina Dies in Bakersfield Fatal Auto Accident near Old River Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 19, 2020) – On Sunday night, 16-year-old Andon Urbina suffered fatal injuries in a collision near Old River Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the teen passenger of a Subaru died after their vehicle crashed with a semi-truck in Bakersfield.
The incident happened at around 6:27 p.m.
The Subaru driver initially failed to yield to a stop sign near Old River and Copus Road.
Due to the impact, one female passenger remained trapped in the vehicle.
Meanwhile, several passengers in the vehicle suffered other minor injuries.
As a result of the incident, crews closed the surrounding area near Old River Road for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
However, the roadway’s since reopened to traffic.
Moreover, the California Highway Police do not believe that drugs and alcohol played a role in the collision near Old River Road.
The Kern County coroner’s office later confirmed the fatality in the crash as Andon Alexander Urbina.
