Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal Crash on 5 Freeway in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA (February 3, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning in Anaheim.
The fatal crash happened around 1:41 a.m. on northbound 5 Freeway at Harbor Boulevard off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Toyota 4Runner was traveling the wrong way when it collided head-on into another vehicle.
When officers arrived, both vehicles were blocking the middle lanes. Responding paramedics found at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
A SigAlert was issued in the area, blocking three freeway lanes for about 45 minutes while crews worked on the scene. All lanes were re-opened roughly around 2:48 a.m.
No identifying information is being released at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
