1 Dead in Houston Vehicle Crash on 600 North Eldridge Parkway

HOUSTON, TX (November 27, 2024) – Early Saturday, authorities arrested Ana Contreras after a brutal auto accident on 600 North Eldridge Parkway.

The incident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. in the 600 block of North Eldridge Parkway when three women returned from a night out.

Contreras, 29, was allegedly speeding when her vehicle hit a curb, veered off the sidewalk, and collided with a tree on 600 North Eldridge Parkway. Meanwhile, a 23-year-old woman in the backseat was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

Authorities reported that Contreras and a front-seat passenger were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Investigators determined that Contreras was impaired at the time of the crash. 

Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed against her while hospitalized.
