Amy Alteneder of Rancho Palos Verdes Killed in Bakersfield Big Rig Accident by Old River Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 9, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, Amy Alteneder, 54, died in a two-vehicle crash on Taft Highway and Old River Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 1:56 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on Taft Highway and Old River Road.
Reports revealed that a northbound pickup truck traveling on Old River Road veered towards Taft Highway. Then, it collided with an eastbound semi-truck.
Furthermore, responders pronounced the female driver of the pickup, Ms. Alteneder of Rancho Palos Verdes, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the male passenger of the pickup to a hospital with major injuries.
Moreover, the crash closed the highway but has long since reopened.
The events leading to the crash are under investigation.
