Vehicle Pulled From the Bridge Railing in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5
Sacramento, CA (September 26, 2020) – On Friday, a vehicle was pulled from the bridge railing in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
The authorities received the report about the crash as of 3:30 PM.
Caltrans said the Southbound I-5 bridge was closed for about half an hour from County Road 22 (Old River Road) to the county line, west of Sacramento International Airport.
It reopened at 4:15 p.m. after the vehicles were removed from the bridge, said CHP. Also, at one point, CHP incident logs said a vehicle was “dangling over the railing.”
Moreover, the CHP said three vehicles were involved in the incident, and that, the car had not hung off the 52½-foot-high Vietnam Servicemen Memorial Bridge.
Furthermore, it was not identified if anyone was seriously injured in the crash. Though, an ambulance helicopter was called in the scene.
No further information is available as of yet.
Aim high in steering, i.e. don’t make your steering adjustments based on what is directly in front of you, but rather what is down the road. If the road is winding to the right, for example, look as far into the turn as possible. This will improve your safety and make your turns smoother.
