Woman and Two Children Hospitalized after Rear-End Collision on Highway 240 near Stevens Drive
RICHLAND, WA (March 3, 2018) – On Friday night around 10:48 PM, a woman and two children were injured in a possible DUI accident on Highway 240 near Stevens Drive.
According to the Washington State Patrol, 31-year-old Bradley T Lagunas of Othello was traveling eastbound on the 240 Freeway in a Kia Forte, when he struck a Subaru Legacy, driven by 33-year-old Amber G Woodland. The Subaru was stopped at a railroad crossing, just west of Stevens Drive.
Lagunas was not injured in the accident. However, Woodland and two passengers in her vehicle were taken to the Kadlec Regional Medical Center for examination. The passengers included a 3-year-old boy and a baby girl. All parties involved in the accident wear wearing seatbelts or properly fastened in child seats.
The man was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and was booked into the Benton County jail just hours after the incident. He was released around 1 PM on Saturday after posting bail of $500.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident. No other information has been released at this time.
