Female Fatally Struck in Car Crash near Lone Star Lane in Placer
PLACER, CA (March 19, 2020) – Saturday afternoon, 18-year-old Alyssa Scheda of Grass Valley, was killed in an auto collision on Highway 49.
California Highway Patrol received reports of the crash around 2:45 p.m. Dispatchers arrived just south of Lone Star Lane shortly after.
Scheda was driving a Honda Civic south when she drove across the center of the roadway. There, she collided head-on with a Mini Cooper before striking a box-truck.
Due to the impact of the collision, Scheda suffered fatal injuries.
Meanwhile, the Mini Cooper’s driver sustained major injuries and was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for further treatment.
Authorities also revealed that the truck driver did not suffer any injury.
The surrounding area on Highway 49 was closed off during preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
