Accident East of Hargrave Street Kills Woman
Banning, CA (January 31, 2023) – On Monday, Alyssa Phelps, 28, of Banning, sustained fatal injuries following an Interstate 10 pedestrian accident.
The traffic collision took place at about 6:20 p.m. on the eastbound freeway, less than a mile east of Hargrave Street.
According to the CHP, they received reports from motorists about Phelps walking along the shoulder of the freeway facing traffic.
Suddenly, she stepped into the slow lane and was fatally struck by a red Honda.
Immediately, the Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and declared Alyssa Phelps dead.
The Honda driver stopped and cooperated with the authorities’ investigation.
