T-Bone Crash on Intersection of Fifth Avenue and Maple Street

 
SPOKANE, WA (March 18, 2018) – Around 1:30 AM on Sunday morning, a hit-and-run collision took place on the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Maple Street near Interstate 90.
 
Alyssa Genther was driving on the off-ramp, when a car headed south on Maple ran a red light and t-boned her vehicle. The driver then drove into a utility pole, before traveling back east on Fifth and fleeing from the scene.
 
The hit-and-run driver caused major damage to the pole and totaled Genther’s car. The young woman suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She reportedly has a lot of pain, and was diagnosed with a cartilage issue in her sternum.
 
There was debris from the suspect vehicle and half a license plate left behind at the scene.
 
Witnesses stopped to make sure she was okay and took pictures, but none of them stayed at the scene. Police officials continue to search for the hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved, and ask for the public’s help.
