T-Bone Crash on Intersection of Fifth Avenue and Maple Street
SPOKANE, WA (March 18, 2018) – Around 1:30 AM on Sunday morning, a hit-and-run collision took place on the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Maple Street near Interstate 90.
Alyssa Genther was driving on the off-ramp, when a car headed south on Maple ran a red light and t-boned her vehicle. The driver then drove into a utility pole, before traveling back east on Fifth and fleeing from the scene.
The hit-and-run driver caused major damage to the pole and totaled Genther’s car. The young woman suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She reportedly has a lot of pain, and was diagnosed with a cartilage issue in her sternum.
There was debris from the suspect vehicle and half a license plate left behind at the scene.
Witnesses stopped to make sure she was okay and took pictures, but none of them stayed at the scene.
