24-Year-Old La Puente Woman Dies in Early Morning Crash on 605 Freeway in Norwalk
NORWALK, CA (February 5, 2020) – A woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Norwalk, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 3:45 a.m. on southbound 605 Freeway, just south of Rosecrans Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound when it struck the concrete center divider. It then came to rest in lanes of traffic and was initially hit by a Dodge Ram pickup truck and a Honda Accord.
The Corolla landed on its roof and was struck by a Chrysler PT Cruiser.
As a result, the driver of the Corolla died at the scene. The coroner’s office identified her as Alyssa Alexus Contreras, 24, of La Puente.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported two other drivers to a hospital. The driver of the Accord suffered major injuries.
The driver of the Chrysler was not injured.
No arrests were reported at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
