Livermore Resident Identified as Motorcyclist Killed in Crash near 27th Street
OAKLAND, CA (July 19, 2019) – Authorities identified 46-year-old Altif Vinson of Livermore as the motorcyclist killed in a crash near 27th Street, Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Interstate 980, at about 11:54 PM. Due to unknown reasons, Vinson’s motorcycle started to wobble and later overturned.
The motorcyclist was thrown off his seat, sending him skidding into the No. 2 lane. There, an oncoming Dodge Ram pickup truck hit the victim. Unfortunately, Vinson died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the fatal accident. Additional information will be released to the public once it becomes available.
