Riverside, CA (October 26, 2024) On Monday evening, a 72-year-old male pedestrian from Riverside was killed in the Altadena Drive tragic traffic crash.

According to the Riverside Police Department (RPD), the fatal crash happened at about 5 p.m. at the intersection of Altadena Drive and Biscayne Avenue.

Reports say that a 72-year-old Riverside man was struck and killed by an SUV while standing in a traffic lane in west Riverside. Officials say that the pedestrian was in the westbound lane of Altadena Drive when a Chevrolet Equinox, traveling at an undetermined speed, struck him.

The SUV driver stopped immediately and cooperated with police. Although the driver was questioned, no arrest was made.

The victim was transported to Riverside Community Hospital with severe injuries but tragically passed away that night. Riverside Police says that it is unclear whether alcohol or drugs were involved. The Major Accident Investigation Team is actively investigating the Altadena Drive tragic traffic crash.
