Authorities Book Alonso Perez Into Smith Correctional Facility
Hemet, CA (February 18, 2021) – On Tuesday, authorities arrested 28-year-old Alonso Perez of San Jacinto after multiple crashes on Menlo Avenue.
The incident took place at about 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of Palm Avenue.
Officers spotted Perez in the area of Main Street and Mistletoe Avenue. Apparently, he was driving a sedan that was reported stolen hours earlier.
The deputies signaled Perez to pull over. However, he floored the vehicle and sped south into Hemet.
Subsequently, pursuing deputies stopped the chase for public safety. Then, a sheriff’s helicopter crew started tracking Perez from overhead.
Minutes later, Perez lost control at the intersection of Menlo Avenue and Palm Avenue.
Consequently, he struck four cars and left the vehicle inoperable. That is when he gave up.
Officers booked him into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of felony evading, driving under the influence, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
There is no information available on bail as of yet.
Luckily, no injuries were reported in this incident.
Driving a stolen vehicle is against the law.
How To Proceed From a Crash
Furthermore, while driving is essential for many to move about in their lives, it is one of the most dangerous daily maneuvers. Thus, it is therefore important to know how to proceed in case you find yourself involved in a traffic collision.
For this reason, on the AAA Foundation Web site, chief executive officer Peter Kissinger repeatedly labeled the epidemic of motor vehicle-related accidents a “public health crisis.”
