El Centro, CA (August 06, 2022) – On Friday afternoon, 27-year-old Alonso Miramontes – Marquez, was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 8.

According to the officers, a 57-year-old man walking on the freeway shoulder near the Jaime Obese Sunbeam Rest Area. Suddenly, the man walked into the path of a westbound box truck.

The truck driver, Alonso Miramontes – Marquez, struck the pedestrian. 

Sadly, the man lost his life at the scene. The authorities withheld the identity of the deceased pending notification of kin.
