Afternoon Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer in Almaden Ends in Fatality
ALMADEN, CA (January 18, 2019) – One person was killed following a traffic collision Friday afternoon in Almaden, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fatal collision happened around 1:39 p.m. on Alamitos Road, just past Hicks Road near Twin Creeks.
According to an initial report by the CHP, a city worker was driving a vehicle behind a slow-moving tractor-trailer. While details are sparse on what exactly transpired, fire crews along with park units responded to the scene and found at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
The name, age and town of residence of the victim were not immediately available.
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol have played a role in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
