27-Year-Old Pregnant Woman from Santa Paula Fatally Injured in Collision near Bradley Street
FREMONT, CA (October 16, 2018) – A pregnant woman was killed in a crash on Santa Paula Street, late Wednesday evening. The deceased victim was later identified as 27-year-old Alma Cresanto of Santa Paula.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 10:35 PM, near Bradley Street. Cresanto was with her 2-year-old daughter during the accident. She was a passenger in a white GMC Acadia SUV traveling eastbound on Santa Paula.
The crash occurred when the vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old Santa Paula man, made a left turn onto Bradley and was struck by a black Dodge pickup truck that was heading westbound on Santa Paula. A third vehicle, a compact Mercedez Benz, was sideswiped by the truck during the incident.
According to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, Cresanto was seven months pregnant and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Her 2-year-old daughter was transported to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) with severe head trauma. The conditions of the other involved were not yet known.
No additional information has been released to the public by the authorities, as the investigation continues.
