Allen Gonzales Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Dumas Highway [Amarillo, TX]

Amarillo, TX (September 8, 2023) On Thursday, 57-year-old Allen Gonzales died after a semi struck him in a hit-and-run crash on Dumas Highway.

According to the Amarillo PD, the fatal crash happened around 12:39 a.m. at the intersection of Dumas Highway and Cherry Avenue.

Reports say that Gonzales’s vehicle broke down at the side of the road, when a big rig struck he man was retrieving items from the car. Officials say that the semi did not stop and continued driving away from the scene.

Officials say that Gonzales suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are searching for the suspect driver and semi who remains at large.

Authorities are investigating the fatal hit-and-run crash.
