37-Year-Old Walnut Creek Man Fatally Struck by Car at Iron Horse Regional Trail
SAN RAMON, CA (October 23, 2018) – A man was killed Tuesday morning following a pedestrian crash at the Iron Horse Regional Trail. The victim was later identified as 37-year-old Allan King Jr, a resident of Walnut Creek.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 6:49 AM in the 3200 block of Crow Canyon Road. A small compact four-door sedan was driving east in the far-right lane when it struck King, who was jogging on the trail.
King suffered major injuries and was transported to San Ramon Regional Medical Center for treatment and medical evaluation. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. Meanwhile, the unidentified sedan driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the fatal crash, which remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call San Ramon police at (925) 973-2700. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
