Alionso Jimenez Perez of Selma Killed in Rear-End Crash on Floral Avenue [Fresno County, CA]

Fresno County, CA (September 5, 2024) – 72-year-old Alionso Jimenez Perez of Selma was killed in a rear-end crash on Floral Avenue Monday night.

CHP officers said it was about 8:15 p.m. when Perez was driving a farm tractor eastbound toward Temperance Avenue. 

At the same time, a Toyota Tacoma was behind him but failed to see the tractor in a sufficient amount of time to stop..

As a result, the Toyota has rear-ended the farm tractor, throwing Perez onto the dirt shoulder. 

Perez was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, investigators said the Toyota driver remained at the crash scene and was not hurt.

CHP is investigating this collision and does not consider drugs nor alcohol as factors in the collision.
