65-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by DUI Hit-and-Run Driver in Littlerock
LITTLEROCK, CA (January 23, 2020) – A suspected DUI driver believed to be responsible in a fatal hit-and-run crash Thursday evening in Littlerock was arrested.
The incident was reported just before 8:00 p.m., on Highway 138 at 77th Street East.
According to authorities, a 65-year-old Littlerock woman had been walking a friend’s dog on westbound Highway 138 when a 1998 Lincoln struck her.
The impact caused fatal injuries to the victim. Arriving units later pronounced her dead at the scene.
The driver was later identified as 62-year-old Alfredo Rodriguez of Palmdale. He stopped his vehicle and briefly got out but then fled the scene of the crash.
Rodriguez drove about 6 miles and got involved in another crash involving multiple vehicles on Avenue S and 25th Street in Palmdale.
Authorities at the scene took Rodriguez into custody and booked him on DUI and other charges.
The second crash injured seven people, two of them were in critical condition.
CHP officials are still investigating this fatal incident. Anyone who witnessed either crash was asked to call Officer Rockafellow at the CHP’s Antelope Valley Area office at 661-948-8541.
