52-Year-Old Hispanic Man Fatally Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision near Imperial Highway

 
VERMONT VISTA, CA (April 13, 2018) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash near South Figueroa Street on Friday evening.
 
Police were alerted about the collision around 7:48 PM, according to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department. The fatal crash occurred in the area of South Figueroa Street and Imperial Highway. The hit-and-run vehicle, believed to be a dark SUV, struck the man and fled the scene.
 
The victim was found in the road by responding officers, and pronounced dead on the scene. He was identified as 52-year-old Alfredo Ortiz. Other details about the crash have not yet been released tot he public at this time.
