Motorcyclist Killed in Fremont Hit-and-Run Crash Identified
FREMONT, CA (June 21, 2019) – The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office released the identity of the motorcyclist who died in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning.
The victim has been identified Friday as Alfred Legaspi, 28, of San Jose.
Legaspi was riding on his motorcycle eastbound on Mission Boulevard at the Brown Road intersection, when a vehicle going in the opposite direction tried to turn onto Brown Road directly in front of him.
Police responded to the scene at 5:25 a.m. and found Legaspi lying on the roadway with major injuries.
Paramedics rushed Legaspi to a trauma center, where he later died.
Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle immediately fled the scene, failing to stop and render aid to the victim.
Police have identified a person of interest, but they have not made any arrests. They contacted a man who’s the registered owner of the vehicle that hit Legaspi’s motorcycle, along with a woman who is the man’s associate.
It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
